Highlights: U.S. Senator Alan Dixon announced his intention to create an Asian American Advisory Committee to his office. During 1985, Chicago Mayor Harold Washington created the Mayor's Advisory Committee on Asian American Affairs. U.S. Senator Paul Simon also created an Asian American Advisory Committee after he was elected.
